Julian Caldwell

Family Submitted: Julian Caldwell, 85, was born in Chicago, IL. July 23, 1939, to the union of Lee and Ouida Caldwell, who proceeded him in death. Julian affectionately known as "Brother" was the middle child of three and the apple of great-grandmother's, Juliet Tucker, eye. Julian received his first communion and confessed Christ at an early age. He was a devote believer and solid in his faith. He was educated at Saint Anne Catholic High School, in St. Anne, IL. He graduated in 1956. He graduated from Tyler Barber College, in Chicago Il., as a licensed Barber.After moving to Chicago, he started his career at Polk Brothers department store in 1965, as a senior salesman and retired in 1992, as a manager. Brother was a jack of all trades and anything he set his mind to he would accomplish. He was a master of trading stocks on major exchanges, an avid fisherman, and gracious host. He lived a life as a devoted and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. Brother had a conversation and kind word for everyone he met. He was a gentleman and a friend indeed, regardless your situation, he would stand by your side. He cherished the moments in life that were fleeting. With his camera in hand, he would capture the everyday moments he spent with people because knew every moment of everyday was precious. Julian Caldwell married Lois Boddy. To this union two children were born Marcus and Todd Caldwell. He later welcomed into his life soulmate and best friend, Mary Jenkins. Brother completed his life's work and was called home on Friday, January 31, 2025, in Hazel Crest, IL. He has now joined his great-grandmother Juliet Tucker, grandmother Lethan Caldwell, grandparents John and Mary Williamson, his uncle Harry and aunt Ethel Williamson, aunt Laurine Tucker, sister Sylvia, brother-in-law Alfred Lumpkins, brother-in-law Charles Powell, daughter-in-law Sonya Caldwell, nephews Jeffrey, Anthony, and Michael Lumpkins, Chadwick and Shaun Powell, and cousin Kirk "Bo" Matthews. Julian "Brother" Caldwell leaves behind countless family members to continue his memory and celebrate his life. Siblings, sister Marian Caldwell Powell, brother Theron Caldwell. Children, sons, Marcus Troy Caldwell and Todd Julian Caldwell, and his daughter Jade Alysha Alston. Grandsons, Brandon (Allison), Justin; granddaughters, Jasmine (Dominique), Ryan (Kaitlyn), and Amareon. Great grandchildren, Antonio, Camden, and Quinn. Nephews, Alfred Lumpkins, John Todd Lumpkins, and Asa (Sophie) Powell. Nieces, Lynn Lumpkins Fulton (Robert), Sharon Lumpkins, Jacqueline Lumpkins, and Joy Lumpkins.Cousin Samella Beal and lifelong friends, Pillai ("Hari") Hariharan, George Teague, Robert Trotter, and Willie McGee.
