Doreen Anna Marcotte

Theodora (Doreen) Anna Marcotte, 83, died on Sunday (November 10, 2013) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. Mrs. Marcotte was born on August 7, 1930 in Dublin, Ireland, the daughter of Antonio and Maria Forte. On February 27, 1954 she married Terence Bernard Marcotte in Momence. Terence preceded her in death on June 14, 2000. Doreen graduated from Governor's State University in 1977. In 1987 she graduated from National Teacher College with a Master Degree in Education. She taught for 25 years in Special Education in Kankakee area schools. She was a very gifted teacher and impacted many students. She was involved in CCW, English Club, Women's Club and other community organizations. Doreen was part of the St. Clare Fraternity of the Order of Franciscan Secular-Third Order. She taught CCD classes for many years for St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Momence. Doreen liked reading, gardening and cooking. Doreen was a loving and caring mother. She was always dedicated to her family. Surviving are four sisters: Rita Forte of Swords, Ireland; Anna Chadwick of Bolton, England; Eda and Peter Power of Rush Co., Dublin, Ireland; Erma and Desmond of Rush Co. Dublin, Ireland. Five brothers: Rocco and Joan Forte of Ireland; Romeo Forte of Dublin, Ireland; Jack Forte of Dublin, Ireland; Dominic and Marion Forte of Ware, England; Adam and Pat Forte of Co. Kildare, Ireland. Five sons and two daughters: Maria and James Rodgers of Elk Run, Iowa; David A. Marcotte of Momence; Raymond Marcotte of Momence; Jane and John Sanders of Canton, Georgia; John and Patti Marcotte of Bonita Springs, Florida; Robert Marcotte of Momence and Anthony and Jennifer Marcotte of Momence. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild and her parents. Cemetery: Burial will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. Visitation: Visitation will be from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday (November 14, 2013) at the Cotter Funeral Home in Momence. A recital of the Rosary will be held at 4:30pm. Service: A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday (November 15, 2013) at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Momence.
