Dolores Joy Morrison

Dolores Joy Morrison, 80, of Momence, IL, died on Saturday (March 13, 2010) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. She was born on July 10, 1929 in Thawville, IL, the daughter of Peter and Fern Sutton Olson. On June 17, 1951 she married Richard C. Morrison in Thawville, IL. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1987. Surviving are two daughters and two sons-in-law: Marguerite and Mark Rosenboom of Crescent City, IL; and Diana and Mike Weiland of Naperville, IL. Three sons and three daughters-in-law: Dale and Alice Morrison of Wisconsin Dells, WI; Dan and Pam Morrison of Ashkum, IL; and Paul and Jen Morrison of Custer Park, IL. One brother and one sister-in-law: Eston and Mabel Olson of Gilman, IL. Ten grandchildren: Adam Rosenboom; Claire and Heidi Morrison; Chris and Katrina Weiland; Ryan and Chloe Morrison; Emily, Andrew, and Ethan Morrison. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother (Vernon Olson), one sister (LaVaun Demers), and one grandson (Eric Morrison). Mrs. Morrison was a retired teacher from Momence High School and Buckley High School. She and her husband had owned Dick's Cyclery in Momence, IL. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Momence, the Dixie Jammers, and she also jammed in the Lake Village, IN; Lowell, IN; and Sauk Village, IL. She also belonged to the Kankakee County Extension Service. Mrs. Morrison also provided healthcare transportation for local residents. Mrs. Morrison rode as Crackers the Clown in the Momence Gladiolus Festival for many years. She also was a Brownie Leader, 4-H Club leader, and enjoyed baking, sewing, and quilting. She was also a Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts Leader. Memorials: First United Methodist Church of Momence and United Way of Kankakee County Cemetery: Inurnment will be in Mt.
