Darlene R. Schuler

Darlene R. Schuler, 93, of Bourbonnais, formerly of Momence, died Wednesday (Aug. 31, 2011) at her residence. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Cotter Funeral Home in Momence, with a 7 p.m. rosary. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Momence. The Revs. Dennis Settles and Richard Pighini will officiate. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in L'Erable. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Birthright of Kankakee or Hospice of Kankakee Valley. Mrs. Schuler was a homemaker and a cook at Range School in Momence. She was born March 18, 1918, in Clifton, the daughter of Eugene and Amy Cailteux Biamount. Her husband, Vernon G. Schuler, whom she married July 17, 1937, in L'Erable, preceded her in death Nov. 1, 2002. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Momence, where she was the past CCW president and past funeral dinner chairwoman, and a member of Birthright of Kankakee, where she served as the past co-director and also volunteered. Surviving are four daughters and three sons-in-law, Vernadene and Richard Zigetma, of Arizona City, Ariz., Charlotte and Roger Barwegen, of Clifton, Gayle and Roger Hess, of Momence, and Denise Gordon, of Bourbonnais; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Vance and Kay Schuler, of Richmond Hill, Ga., Steven and Ruth Schuler, of Peotone, and Rodney Schuler, of Momence; 27 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Burnal Biamount, of Kankakee. She was preceded in death by four sons, Glenn, Irving, Leland and Mark Schuler; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Smith Schuler; two grandsons, Matthew Schuler and Eddie Barwegen; two great-grandchildren, Tasha Barwegen and Jonah Paul Malinik; her parents; and one sister-in-law, Eileen Biamount. Cemetery: Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in L\'Erable, IL Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 - 8 PM on Friday (September 2, 2011) at the Cotter Funeral Home in Momence. A Rosary Service will be held at 7 PM. Service: A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday (September 3, 2011) at 10 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Momence, Revs. Dennis Settles and Richard Pighini will officiate.
