Allison Jo Ronek

Allison Jo Ronek, 13, of Momence, died on May 15, 2018, at the Ann & Robert Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago, IL. She was born on September 23, 2004, in San Diego, CA, the daughter of Daniel and Brandy Choate Ronek. She is survived by her parents and four siblings; Noah, Emma, Brandan and Mylee of Momence, IL. Also surviving are maternal grandparents; Jeff and Cindy Choate of Imperial, CA. Uncles and Aunts; Robert and Bernie Choate, Lisa and Dan Fitzpatrick, Brian Bertrand, Scott Bertrand, Ron Ronek, Michael Ronek, Kathleen and Joe Hansen, and Diane and Biagio Chianello. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents; William and Rosemary Barton. She was an 8th grade student at the Momence Junior High in Momence, IL. Growing up she was always active. She participated in gymnastics for two years. At the age of nine, she transitioned over to cheerleading and cheered with Allstar Cheer. She loved her cheer family. In San Diego, she cheered with Cheerforce. After moving to Illinois, she continued her cheering with the Allstar Athletics. During this past season, Allison was very excited as she attained level four cheer through lots of hard work. Alli's drive continued in the classroom where she had amazing grades, earning all A's and B's. Allison was the kind of kid who came running when you called for her, often jumping onto you. Alli loved making silly faces. She adored cows, foxes, dandelions and her favorite color was mint blue. If it was made out of chocolate, she had to have it. She was in love with it. If your path ever crossed Allison's; you would find someone so full of life and spunk, who always seemed to be dancing and singing. No matter your name, she would provide you a new name and create a story for you of who you were. She would decide to call you whatever name she chose, such as Larry, Bob, or George. Although she could be the silliest kid to make one laugh, Alli was kind-hearted and the most caring person one could ever meet; often helping others in need. One may say she was a free spirt and wild, and often this was very true. If you challenged her and said it couldn't be done, she would rise up to the occasion to prove you wrong. Through Alli's eyes she saw the world and its beauty and loved taking it all in. Often she walked freely barefoot in the flowers, sat by or in the nearby lakes, jumped into the ocean waves, or rode behind the boat in the inner tube. Recently she was able to enjoy snow and go sledding down a hill for the first time in Illinois. Often you could find her riding her brother's dirt bike in the back yard, to painting on the back porch, or planting a garden when Spring first arrives. She was everything, she was amazing!
