Obituary for William D. Munyon

William D. Munyon "Jr", 84, of Momence, IL, He died on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at the Riverside Senior Living in Bourbonnais, IL. He was born on August 16, 1934, in Rensselaer, IN, the son of William K. and Sybil Mae Printy Munyon. He married Marilyn M. Beaumont on June 3, 1955 in Kankakee, IL. She preceded him in death on November 2, 1997. He then married Phyllis A. Hoppel Pansa on July 1, 2000 in Momence, IL. She survives.

He is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law; William “Bud” and Tammy Munyon of Mattoon, IL, Carl and Pamela Munyon of Charleston, SC, and Robert and Mabel Munyon of Momence, IL. Two step-children; Bret and Wendy Pansa of Momence, IL and Rhonda and Todd Wood of New Braunfels, TX. One brother and sister-in-law; Jake and Joan Munyon of Momence, IL. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother; Myron Munyon.

He was a local farmer. He served in the United States Army. He attended Our Savior Lutheran Church in Momence, IL and the St. Anne American Legion Post 842. He served as the former Momence Township Supervisor, former Kankakee County Board Member and former treasurer of the Momence School Board. He enjoyed collecting antique tractors and owned the Momence Depot.
