Pre-planning

Pre-planning a funeral has definite advantages over the funeral arranged at the time of need.  

• You have time to think through all the aspects of the funeral that you desire.
  
• All the information needed for the obituary and death certificate can be placed on file which lessens the chance of errors in these documents. 
  
• You will have the peace-of-mind that you will have the service you desire. 
  
• The pre-arranged funeral can be paid in full, which locks in the funeral service at today’s price rather than what the price will be in the future.
  
• It is important to know that the pre-paid funeral service is set up in an irrevocable trust fund with the Illinois Funeral Directors Trust Fund in Springfield, IL.  The only way to retrieve these funds is with a certified copy of the death certificate. 
  
• If you should have to go on public aid, certain funds are legally protected in a manner that does not count against your assets. 
  
• The funeral trust will also last longer than the original provider. If something happens to the funeral director, such as retirement, death, etc., your funeral trust agreement will be honored by another funeral director or firm.
  
• If you decide not to prepay for the funeral service, you can still provide the vital information and service you wish to have.
  
  

• If you wish to have us come to your home in the Momence area instead of making pre-arrangements at the funeral home, an appointment may be made by telephone or online.
  
• If you do not wish not to set up an appointment but would like us to keep the vital statistic information for the death certificate and obituary, you can complete the online form.  Once the online account has been created, you can view or edit the account at any time by logging in using your e-mail address and your password.
